Lorraine is one of only 568 people who call New Tulsa home, and the limitations of that town feel stifling. Every face is familiar and the harbinger of some old memory. Lorraine lives with her past constantly paraded before her like a carousel that never seems to slow or stop.
Everything looks to change, though, when the town is suddenly faced with a choice: vote to dissolve New Tulsa and incorporate into nearby Broken Arrow.
As the town becomes giddy with the thought of shedding New Tulsa, Lorraine must grapple with her choice, as well as some unexpected news about a long-absent father. Struck with insomnia, Lorraine’s sleeplessness soon leads to shadows tailing her every move. When rest continues to elude her, she begins to suspect there’s only one way to free herself of this lurking darkness: find a way to let go.
